Tube Dek Media also called tube settlers, are used for solids removal (sedimentation processes) in water, effluent and sewage treatment plants. Tube Dek Media can be used in rectangular and in circular tanks as well.
Tube settler is a system used for clarification. It uses multiple tubular channels sloped at an angle of 55 or 60° from horizontal and adjacent to each other, which combine to form an increased effective settling area.
Advantages:-
Tube settlers are operated in a countercurrent mode. The water is passed from the bottom and flows upwards and exists from the basin above the modules. The solids that settle within the tube, settle down due to gravity.
Tube Dek Media consist of single profiles, which are assembled to a module forming several adjacent tubes and multiple sedimentation planes. This design increases the sedimentation and therefore decreases costs by being able to build smaller tanks.
Flow passes through multiple, variably sized inlet orifices to the settling zone and proceeds upward through the tubes. Careful attention is paid to the design flow velocity between the tubes in order to maximize the settling capabilities.
